River Macomber's Scion XB
River Macomber a long time friend and support of the PowerBass brand created his PowerBass Equipped SOUNDWAVE for competition in sound quality as well as SPL and car shows all across socal!
SOUNDWAVE started off as a stock SCION XB and was equipped with ULTRA Wheels wrapped up by Triangle Tires and of course the audio system had to be top notch every time, but SOUNDWAVE's audio set up has seen many changes over the years with this latest build set to the biggest one yet! The sound system starts with the receiver which is a Clarion NX706 which feeds out to a 12 channel processor on fiber-optic cable. This way there is absolutely no degradation of signal. The C-DSP 8X12 processor by miniDSP is the true brains of the system.
Getting great sound comes with great tuning ability and line voltage using 10 of the 2 channels available with 6 volts signal output to the 6 amplifiers. Providing power to the amplifiers is critical so River went at this task giving each of the monoblock amplifiers 2 runs of 0 gauge wire fed directly from a bank of FULL THROTTLE Batteries providing 485 amp hours of current. Of course this is supplemented by a 300 amp internally regulated AutoTech Engineering alternator. Running at a cool 14.5 volts at idle. Before big events the onboard 30 amp FR1 battery charger ensures bass will be playing for hours..
